The process involves mixing, extrusion, shaping, filling, baking/frying, and packaging.

Raw Material Preparation
Rice flour blend: Rice flour/wheat flour/grain flour is mixed with water, starch, and minor ingredients (e.g., sugar, salt) to form a dough.
Filling preparation: A sweet or savory paste (e.g., chocolate, peanut, cheese, fruit jam) is prepared separately.
Extrusion & Puffing
The rice dough is fed into a twin-screw extruder, where high temperature and pressure cook and expand the mixture.
The extruded rice tubes or pellets are cut into small pieces (pre-forms) and partially dried.
Shaping & Hollowing (for filled varieties)
The rice puffs are shaped into hollow shells (e.g., balls, cylinders) using molds or precision cutting.
Some processes use co-extrusion to directly form a hollow center for filling.
Filling Injection
A filling machine injects the prepared cream or paste into the hollow rice shells via nozzles.
Filling accuracy is controlled to avoid leakage or under-filling.
Drying / Baking
Oven drying or baking: For low-fat products, the filled puffs are baked to achieve crispiness.
Cooling & Coating (Optional)
The products are cooled to room temperature to stabilize texture.
Additional coatings (e.g., powdered flavors, chocolate glaze) may be applied.
Packaging
Automated weighing and packaging machines fill the snacks into bags with nitrogen flushing (to extend shelf life).
Common packaging types: Stand-up pouches, vacuum-sealed bags, or boxed units.
